There is no perfect or ideal way to be before showing up to practice mobility, start with where you are and through consistency and commitment, be open to some powerful shifts happening for (and to) you.
First off, how the heck are you feeling now that Regionals is over and you're on your way to The Frickin’ CrossFit Games!?
It feels so surreal. We really didn't expect to make it. We were just there for the experience. It's been about 2 weeks now and slowly finally sinking in and I feel ready. Plus, my body is only now starting to feel back to normal after Regionals.

I feel really good. It's been really nice to turn down the intensity and take some time off to chill. This was my third year competing as an individual and I walked away on Sunday the best I've ever been mentally; it was really cool to be able to see that growth. I still have gaps that I need to keep working on but I'm really excited to get back to work.
While they certainly recommend balance, moderation, and at least some variety, the fitness coaches at ICE NYC all have their own “personal superfood”, you know, that food they reach for almost daily for the purposes of nutrition, convenience, and habit. As an added bonus, their go-to’s are also delicious and easy, they’d have to be for someone living fitness to want to eat them so often. Find out what our coaches are eating on the reg and consider adding them into your own food rotation:
ICE NYC at Jumby Bay offers guests an upscale training experience with intuitive instruction. From warm-ups on the dock, to a "WOD" on the beach and burpees or pushups in the sand, guests have access to a wealth of fitness knowledge including training that is functional, intuitive, and easy to take home.
As an instructor, I love that I can tell a story through my music selection in class. The genre doesn’t matter, but the instruments, beats, and lyrics come together to create a soulful experience. I play hip-hop, techno, dance music, old school Motown, Spanish music, instrumental, rock, and songs that don’t neatly fit into one genre. If I hear a song, and it moves or takes me somewhere, I will figure out a way to include it into my class playlist.
WHAT CAN PEOPLE EXPECT FROM YOUR CLASS? In my class you can expect a good form-focused workout that balances strength and endurance. You can also expect at least 1 core-based circuit. I like to work in time-intervals so that everyone can work at a pace they're comfortable with. You can also expect to hear at least one 90's song that makes you go "Oh man I LOVE this song!!"
It can be a struggle to bring your A game to a workout, no matter how important your fitness goals are to you Whether your goal is to place in the top 3 for a WOD before the end of the year, join the deadlift 300 club or the bench press 200 club, or improve your clean and jerk form, staying consistent and showing up are key. When you’re struggling to remember why it’s worth all that effort and sweat, the quotes your favorite ICE NYC coaches use to stay motivated will give you the push you need:
As a practitioner and teacher of yoga as well as a CrossFit athlete, I am constantly holding space for my body so that I can operate in a state of simultaneous effort and ease, strength and flexibility, power and softness. To me, this balance is mobility. This year the CrossFit Open offered me the opportunity to shift the way I teach mobility as well as how I practice mobility to overcome plateaus and mental obstacles in and out of the box.
