How did you find ICE?

I found ICE by basically going down the list of nearby CrossFit boxes from my old office in Soho. Started with the nearest one, tried it for a few weeks, and then started moving outward. ICE won me over day one and I pretty much stopped searching.

What motivates you the most?

It might sound funny, but I really do use CrossFit as my yoga. My motivation is to “show up and do the work” just like any other practice. Certain days are designated training days, and if life isn’t working out on that day, then either I modify or I just scale it back… but I always do something.

What is your biggest fear in life?

Revealing my ultimate fear and then having it capitalized on at the most inopportune time.

What is your greatest non-fitness accomplishment?

In 2011, I joined a very small company that was still figuring itself out. Ultimately, over several years, the company eventually went public and I got to play a decent sized part in the whole ordeal. It was six years of total insanity that I wouldn’t repeat for the world. But it felt like a hell of an accomplishment.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

A solid vanilla, all the way.

How did you find ICE?

I moved from Florida in July so when I moved to New York I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue with Crossfit. After a few months of doing ClassPass I decided I wanted to get back into Crossfit so I started Googling and saw that ICE was coming to the UES so I emailed Izzy and "patiently" waited for it to open.

What motivates you the most?

Knowing that somebody will always be working as hard (or harder) than me so it inspires me to always try my best.

What is your biggest fear in life?

I feel like its bad karma to actually say my biggest fear, BUT I guess one of them would be to get a disease/sickness etc. that wouldn't allow me to be active anymore.

What is your greatest non-fitness accomplishment?

My greatest non-fitness accomplishment? Such a serious question! lol I think I'm still figuring this out. I'm not sure I would call it an accomplishment, but I've always wanted to live in NYC so moving here this past year has been a dream come true and finding ICE has made it even better.  :)

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Anything with chocolate (+ peanut butter) or mint chocolate chip.

How did you find ICE?

Back in November I heard a co-worker mention that a new crossfit gym was about to open up nearby. I had been pretty interested in crossfit for some time, so with a new gym opening up a couple blocks away from my apartment I decided to give it a try. I spoke to Izzy, toured the gym the day before it opened and actually came for the first class. I really enjoyed it, signed up, and haven’t looked back since.

What motivates you the most?

Competition. It’s probably not the healthiest form of motivation, but at the end of the day it keeps me working hard within workouts and pushing myself further than I would otherwise. Additionally, it’s very motivating to watch yourself progress over time and accomplish things you couldn’t prior.

What is your biggest fear in life?

NYC rats. Just kidding, assault bikes.

What is your greatest non-fitness accomplishment?

As a sophomore in college I walked-on to the football team at Vanderbilt as a wide receiver through an open-tryout. I actually had very little football experience prior, and had grown up playing baseball and tennis. It was a wild ride – if you know me I’ve probably already talked to you too much about it.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

This is a tough one… Coffee/Espresso w/ chocolate chips.
